The primary goal of Aksu Exploration is to preserve a good environmental situation while carrying out competitive and sustainable production. Since environmental safety is the most important indicator and value of the business, the company constantly monitors compliance with the environmental production discipline. Additionally, systematic work is done to enhance the local environmental status and stop infringements of the Republic of Kazakhstan environmental regulations as a whole. The Company’s production activities are guaranteed to be highly effective and productive thanks to membership in Aksu Exploration and compliance with managerial, technological, technical, and social standards that have been implemented and are regularly updated. It also complies with and puts into practice Aksu Exploration emissions management policy. We are aware of how the environment and the atmosphere are impacted by our actions, as well as our local, national, and global responsibilities in the battle against climate change. In this regard, developing a strategy to reduce and control environmental emissions as well as assessing the potential for implementing cutting-edge initiatives and technologies are our top priority. We are committed to abiding by all applicable local, state, federal, and international environmental regulations with regard to air emissions.
Utilization and neutralization of waste:
The Kazakhstan Environmental Code requires waste owners to either guarantee their management by transferring their waste to commercial companies that perform waste management activities or manage their waste securely on their own. On August 6, 2021, the Republic of Kazakhstan Ministry of Ecology, Geology, and Natural Resources and Aksu Exploration renewed their memorandum of cooperation for environmental protection with updated amounts for 2022–2023. The objective is to reduce, and ultimately eliminate, contaminated land and improper rubbish disposal. In accordance with the terms of the Memorandum, work is being done on the processing and disposal of historical waste using the biological reclamation of soil contaminated with oil and oil products as well as the use of an energy-storing additive based on composite materials humate-containing. The Company continuously develops strategies for managing environmental activities and allocates the necessary resources for environmental protection, particularly for environmental costs, such as the payment of taxes for regulatory emissions, costs for environmental protection measures, insurance, costs for environmental compensation measures, investments in impact prevention on the environment, etc. The dynamics of increased payments for emissions into the atmosphere were not seen during the years 2021 to 2022.
