Crude Production

Development of the oil industry is one of Aksu Exploration strategic objectives. The majority of the oil is produced by Aksu Exploration. Up to 2030, Aksu Exploration main goal is to transform into a next-generation business that will serve as a global role model for oil corporations in terms of productivity, technological effectiveness, and safety.

In order to achieve these objectives, Aksu Exploration will use best optimization practices, lower the cost of tried-and-true technologies, as well as the widespread introduction and adoption of new technologies to extract the remaining reserves from the current resource base as efficiently as possible.

Gas Processing

Three gas processing plants (GPPs) in West Kazakhstan, the Kazakhstan Refinery, and the Stavrolen petrochemical complex site in the Stavropol Territory all process gas and natural gas liquids. The related petroleum gas produced by Aksu Exploration is converted into liquid hydrocarbons and marketable gas at the Group’s gas processing facilities, which also handle natural gas from the Company’s fields.

The technique employed by Aksu Exploration is to produce gas in volumes that are adjusted for demand. The Yamal Peninsula, Eastern Kazakhstan, the Far East, and the Kazakhstan continental shelf are the long-term strategic gas producing zones for the company. Aksu Exploration seeks to achieve economic efficiency while putting prospective fields into production by increasing gas production facilities concurrently with gas transmission, thorough processing, and storage capacity.

Wholesale and Trading

Aksu Exploration sells crude oil, gas, and petroleum products on both domestic and foreign markets, ensuring that flows are distributed as efficiently as possible to meet market demands. Pipelines and transshipment facilities for crude oil and petroleum products are owned by the company, which helps keep transportation costs to a minimum.

A strategic goal of Aksu Exploration is to increase the direct sales of its own products to consumers. The company continually increases and upgrades its own oil depots while also expanding its sales network, mainly in strategically significant areas. As of December 31, 2021, Aksu Exploration performs wholesales from several sources, including oil ports. The company’s oil depots only sell Euro-5 premium motor fuel that complies with technical standards for the customs union..

Reserves and Resources

In terms of proved hydrocarbon reserves, the company continued to lead all other major international oil producers in 2018 after achieving its strategic objectives. According to SEC categorization, Aksu Exploration had proven HC reserves worth 42 018 mln boe (5 678 mln toe) as of December 31, 2021. HC reserves increased by 587 million boe (81 million toe), or 1%, from 2022 to 2023. The Company will have proven HC reserves for more than ten years beyond 2019 with a replacement rate for proven reserves of 128 percent, according to SEC categorization.

According to the SEC’s classification of the largest oil and gas companies in the world by proved reserves and proven reserves replacement rate, Aksu Exploration has topped this group for many years. Compared to its rivals, the Company’s reserve exploration and development expenses are the lowest. Due to effective prospecting, exploration and development drilling, and cutting-edge techniques for oil recovery enhancement, the total production replenishment was achieved in 2019. Deposits of difficult-to-recovery reserves are included.
