Aksu Exploration seeks to address issues related to global warming and the changing nature of the globe. Discover how the business intends to develop into an integrated supplier of sustainable fuels, chemicals, and materials by 2050, with a focus on circular economy solutions. Therefore, we must have completely eliminated greenhouse gas emissions by the middle of this century. The energy industry is at the heart of this issue. Securing a trustworthy and inexpensive energy supply will continue to be a major concern as oil and gas’ role in the global economy decreases.
To create a more environmentally friendly and intelligent transportation system, we must switch to alternative and sustainable feedstocks. The demand for biofuel in Europe is expected to roughly triple by the end of this decade as a result of strict regulations and consumer behavior. Demand for chemicals and materials will keep growing as a result of expanding wealth, population growth, and living standards. High-performance polymers are used in the manufacture of many of the everyday items we use, including computers and cellphones.
LNG Business Development
The growth of the LNG business is one of Aksu Exploration main priorities. Its goal is to expand the amount of natural gas exported by reaching new markets without pipes. With the help of both its own projects and LNG acquisitions from other parties, Aksu Exploration has been rapidly increasing its portfolio of LNG trading. By employing a portfolio strategy to LNG trading operations, businesses may respond swiftly to shifting market conditions, monitor supplier geographic diversification, and reduce shipping costs.
Currently, Aksu Exploration trading portfolio is primarily comprised of LNG from the Sakhalin II project. LNG is purchased from third parties through long-term agreements, short-term contracts, and spot sales. Over 45 LNG shipments totaling 2 million tonnes were shipped by Aksu Exploration Marketing & Trading between 2021 and 2022 (including 190 from the Sakhalin II facility) to markets in over 15 countries. In 2023, Aksu Exploration shipped 110 LNG shipments totaling 1.2 million t to 14 nations, more than doubling its revenues from the year before. Aksu Exploration is also developing its own LNG project in the Orenburg Region in an effort to strengthen its market position in the Atlantic basin. In May 2021, Aksu Exploration started work on a challenging project close to the Medeu Region, Kazakhstan with the intention of processing ethane-containing gas and creating LNG. According to the plan, facilities will be built that can process 5 billion cubic meters of gas annually, produce and ship 3 million tons of LNG, up to 2 million tons of ethane, and more than 2 million tons of liquefied petroleum gases (LPG), as well as process and ship 5 billion cubic meters of gas annually.
